Eco-friendly, nutrient dense, and naturally regenerative—seaweed farming is a powerhouse for the planet. Sustainable, clean, and helping to restore our oceans.
Empowering and Innovating Belize’s Seaweed Industry
Belize, a beautiful country in the Caribbean, is home to one of the most pristine marine environments in the world, including the second-largest coral reef system. As traditional fisheries like conch, lobster, and shrimp face overexploitation, seaweed farming has emerged as a sustainable solution for Belize’s coastal communities.
Through our work, we’re making a profound impact in Belize by supporting the local communities that harvest our sea moss and preserving the natural environment they call home. Our direct partnerships with Belizean farmers ensure fair wages, stable livelihoods, and economic opportunities, helping to uplift entire families and communities. By committing to sustainable, low-impact harvesting practices, we protect the marine ecosystems that are crucial to the health of Belize’s waters, ensuring that future generations can continue to benefit from these natural resources. Every purchase you make helps us build a better future, creating a ripple effect of positive change that reaches beyond our products and into the heart of Belize.

Building a Better Future: Empowering People, Protecting the Planet
Our collective of farmers use innovative techniques such as floating rafts and long-line farming. This sustainable practice is not only low-impact on the environment but also provides valuable ecosystem services, such as carbon sequestration and habitat enhancement for marine species

Empowering Belizean Farmers: Our Fair Trade Commitment
At the heart of our company lies a commitment to the hard-working Belizean farmers who make our products possible. We believe in treating our farmers as partners, not suppliers. Through direct trade practices, we provide fair wages, resources, and training, helping these families earn a sustainable income and improve their quality of life. By cutting out intermediaries, we ensure that more of each dollar spent goes directly into the hands of the people who make our work possible.

Environmental Sustainability: Achieving 45% Carbon Neutrality in Sea Moss Production
Our approach to sea moss production is designed with sustainability at its core, achieving a 45% carbon neutralization rate. Through environmentally responsible harvesting methods and investments in renewable energy and reforestation projects, we actively work to offset nearly half of the carbon emissions associated with our operations. This commitment underscores our dedication to protecting the planet while delivering high-quality, eco-friendly products.

Community Development Initiatives
We believe that businesses have the power to make a difference. Beyond supporting farmers, we are committed to community-led conservation projects that protect Belize’s unique ecosystems. These efforts include mangrove reforestation, coral restoration, and the preservation of marine biodiversity—all driven by the knowledge and leadership of local communities.

Supporting Education and Skills Training
We are dedicated to empowering the next generation through education and skills training. We invest in educational programs and vocational training opportunities for farmers and their families, equipping them with valuable skills that extend beyond sea moss harvesting. By supporting access to education and skill-building, we aim to create pathways for economic mobility, helping individuals and communities to thrive and secure a brighter future.
How Sea Moss Farming Supports the Environment
Climate Change Mitigation
Seaweed farms contribute to mitigating climate change by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide reducing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and slowing down the process of global warming.
Ecosystem Protection
Seaweed farming helps in coastal protection by reducing wave energy and preventing coastal erosion. Additionally, seaweed farms can help elevate pH levels and reduce the effects of ocean acidification, thereby creating healthier marine environments.
Agricultural Emission Reduction
Sea moss can be used as a substitute for synthetic fertilizers in agriculture, reducing the environmental impact of traditional farming. Seaweed-based animal feed has also been found to reduce methane emissions from livestock, further contributing to reducing the overall carbon footprint.
10 UN Sustainable Development Goals
We are proud to align our business practices with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on the 10 goals that resonate most with our mission. From promoting good health and well-being to responsible consumption and production, we prioritize sustainability at every step. Our efforts in reducing environmental impact, supporting gender equality, and fostering partnerships for the goals reflect our dedication to creating a positive global impact. We continuously strive to innovate and grow while maintaining ethical, eco-friendly practices that benefit both people and the planet.
